The Light in the Piazza Star Shines on ABC's "Pushing Daisies," Nov. 14

Mark Harelik — last seen on Broadway in The Light in the Piazza — guest stars on ABC's "Pushing Daisies" Nov. 14.
An ABC synopsis for the episode titled "Bitches" reads: "When a dog breeder who may have bred the world's most perfect pooch is found dead, Ned and company try to figure out who exactly did the deed, especially after they learn the deceased was a polygamist who left four grieving widows."
The show will also feature Joel McHale, Lydia Look, Jenny Wade, Christine Adams and Jessica Lundy (Uncommon Women and Others).
Harelik originated the role of Signor Naccarelli on Broadway in the Adam Guettel-Craig Lucas musical The Light in the Piazza. Other stage credits for the actor include The House in Town, Sam Hammer, The Beard of Avon and Old Money. He has also penned the books to The Immigrant and Hank Williams: Lost Highway.

Bryan Fuller ("Heroes," "Wonderfalls") created the new hour-long series "Pushing Daisies," which plays Wednesdays at 8 PM (ET). (Check local listings.)
Tony Award winners Kristin Chenoweth and Swoosie Kurtz as well as fellow stage actors Lee Pace, Anna Friel and Ellen Greene appear in the series. Jim Dale provides the show's narration.
Billed as a "blend of romance, fantasy and mystery," "Pushing Daisies" follows a "forensic fairytale about Ned, a young man with a very special gift," according to a show description. "As a young boy Ned discovers that he can return the dead briefly back to life with just one touch. But his random gift isn't without deadly consequences… as he soon finds out."
Raúl Esparza (Company) recently appeared as a guest star and is slated to return. Other stage alum to have played on the series include Barbara Barrie and Hamish Linklater. Still scheduled to appear are Christopher Sieber (Spamalot), Sarah Jayne Jensen (Wonderful Town) as well as Paul Reubens, Molly Shannon and Michael White.
