Bock's Receptionist Gets Overtime at MTC, Extends to Dec. 30

Manhattan Theatre Club's critically acclaimed production of Adam Bock's The Receptionist has been extended by popular demand through Dec. 30 at New York City Center – Stage I.
Joe Mantello directs the office-set play, which is billed this way: "At the start of a typical day in the Northeast Office, Beverly deals effortlessly with ringing phones and her colleague's romantic troubles. But the appearance of a charming rep from the Central Office disrupts the friendly routine. And as the true nature of the company's business becomes apparent, The Receptionist raises disquieting, provocative questions about the consequences of complicity with evil."
The Receptionist started previews Oct. 12 and opened Oct. 30 to acclaim from critics and audiences alike. Critics mentioned that Bock's 75-minute play is in the tradition of Caryl Churchill's work.
The cast includes Josh Charles ("Sports Night"), Robert Foxworth (Twelve Angry Men), Tony Award nominee Jayne Houdyshell (Well) and Kendra Kassebaum (Wicked).
The creative team includes David Korins (scenic design), Jane Greenwood (costume design), Brian MacDevitt (lighting design), Darron L West (sound design) and David Caparelliotis (casting).
The performance schedule through Dec. 23 is Tuesday-Saturday at 8 PM, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 2 PM.
The performance schedule Dec. 26-30 will be Wednesday-Saturday at 8 PM; Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 2 PM; Sunday at 7 PM.
