Manhattan Theatre Club's new spring 2008 Broadway production Caryl Churchill's Top Girls will feature Mary Catherine Garrison, Elizabeth Marvel, Martha Plimpton and Marisa Tomei, the not-for-profit confirmed.

The 1982 play will be directed James Macdonald for an April 15 launch at the Biltmore Theatre. It opens May 7.

This is the Broadway debut of the lauded all-female-cast play. According to MTC, "Set at the Top Girls Employment Agency in London in the early 1980s, this groundbreaking, theatrical play tells the story of Marlene, an ambitious career woman who has just been appointed head of the firm. But as she celebrates her achievements, can we applaud her values? This bold and ingenious work from the singularly talented author of Far Away and Cloud Nine offers one of the theatre's most honest portraits of what it means to be a woman in the modern world."

James Macdonald staged the New York premiere of Churchill's A Number, as well as last season's Dying City at Lincoln Center Theater.

Role assignment and additional cast have not been announced.

Plimpton is currently starring in LCT's Cymbeline, and is a vet of MTC's Shining City and LCT's The Coast of Utopia. Tomei is an Academy Award winner for My Cousin Vinny and is now in Off-Broadway's Oh, the Humanity… by Will Eno. Garrison played the frisky sister in MTC's Rabbit Hole and was one of Roundabout Theatre Company's Assassins. Marvel's resume includes the Broadway revival of Edward Albee's Seascape and the title role in the controversial New York Theater Workshop's Hedda Gabler.
