Following the nearly three weeks that Broadway was dark due to the stagehands strike, the producers of Rent announced a "Welcome Back to Broadway" ticket sale that puts the Tony Award-winning show's top ticket price at $65 in December.

All tickets (except those for Saturday night) are discounted through Dec. 23. Those interested must mention a special code at purchase time.

"All orchestra seats, usually priced at $110, will be $65; front mezzanine seats will sell for $55 and all rear mezzanine seats will be $40 for all performances excluding Saturday nights," according to an announcement.

Rent, written by Jonathan Larson and directed by Michael Greif, opened at Broadway’s Nederlander Theatre, on April 29, 1996, following a sold-out, extended limited engagement at Off-Broadway's New York Theatre Workshop. The musical went on to win every major best musical award, including the Tony Award, as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Rent is the seventh longest-running show in Broadway history.

The Nederlander Theatre is located at 208 West 41st Street, between Seventh and Eighth Avenues. Performances play Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 2 PM & 8 PM, and Sunday at 2 PM & 7 PM.

Tickets may be purchased by visiting ticketmaster.com or by phoning TicketMaster at (212) 307-4100. For the "Welcome Back to Broadway" discount, please use the code RENTON.

A limited number of $20 tickets are available day of performance at the box office. For more information, visit www.siteforrent.com.
