The New York Theatre Barn will present an evening of rock-infused performance art installations entitled The Gallery on Dec. 9.

The Gallery incorporates eclectic material – original pieces, rarely performed Broadway tunes, the Guns 'n' Roses rock hit "November Rain" – in order "to show the relationship between artistic processes across different art genres and to redefine contemporary musical performance by merging classical cabaret with a contemporary rock/pop aesthetic," press notes state.

The cast of up-and-coming young talent features We Will Rock You's Joey Calveri as the painter at the center of The Gallery, with cabaret artists Tori Scott, Ashley McHugh, Kathrine Schickert, Maegan McConnell, Sarah Katherine Mason, Melanie Waldron and Kristi Ambrosetti as the performers who bring his work to life through a series of interactive confessions. Rob Baumgartner serves as musical director.

Joey Murray conceived and will direct the work playing the Laurie Beechman Theatre at 9:30 PM. Tickets are $20 plus a $15 food/drink minimum. Reservations can be made by calling (212) 695-6909.

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located in Manhattan at 407 West 42nd Street, within the West Bank Café.

The New York Theatre Barn is committed to creating and developing new, evocative works that are based on the principle that theatre is a collaborative art form that can only be successful when the process of the artists involved is nurtured and supported.
