Barrowman Biography Due in January 2008, Audiobook in February

By Andrew Gans
12 Dec 2007

John Barrowman

As previously reported, John Barrowman, the stage and screen star who was recently seen as a judge on "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?" and "Any Dream Will Do," has penned his autobiography.

Barrowman had inked a deal with Michael O'Mara Books to write his autobiography. Entitled "Anything Goes," the tome — according to the actor's official website — will arrive in U.K. stores Jan. 24, 2008. The actor is currently recording a companion audiobook, which will be released Feb. 4.

Kate Gribble, who has edited Barrowman's autobiography, said in a previous statement, "We are absolutely delighted to be publishing John's life story. He's a multitalented, high-profile star."

John Barrowman reprised his role as Billy Crocker in the National Theatre's production of Anything Goes at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. He originally played the role opposite Elaine Paige in 1989. On Broadway, the actor starred in the Stephen Sondheim revue Putting It Together and also made a guest appearance in the New York company of Sunset Boulevard, repeating his London role as Joe Gillis. Barrowman's other London theatrical credits include Grease!, The Phantom of the Opera, The Fix, Miss Saigon and Beauty and the Beast. He made his London pantomime debut in a production of Cinderella and was also seen in the film of "The Producers." He has also been a judge on several reality TV casting programs and can currently be seen in the BBC series "Dr. Who."
