Arcelus to Replace Reichard in Broadway's Jersey Boys

Sebastian Arcelus will succeed original Jersey Boys cast member Daniel Reichard in that Tony-winning Broadway musical Jan. 10, 2008, at the August Wilson Theatre.
Reichard — who created the role of Bob Gaudio in the musical — will play his final performance Jan. 9. Arcelus will join original cast members Christian Hoff and J. Robert Spencer as well as recent replacement Michael Longoria.
The current Broadway cast also features Peter Gregus and Mark Lotito with Travis Cloer, Kris Coleman, Colin Donnell, Ken Dow, Heather Ferguson, Steve Gibb, Cory Grant, Donnie Kehr, John Leone, Jennifer Naimo, Dominic Nolfi, Erica Piccininni, Sara Schmidt, and Eric Schneider. Cory Grant performs in the lead role of Valli at Wednesday and Saturday matinees.
Arcelus has also played on Broadway in Wicked, Rent and Good Vibrations. Other credits include the national tour of Wicked, The Full Monty, Caligula, Hamlet: A Rock Opera, Aida, Floyd Collins and the world premiere of William Finn's Songs of Innocence and Experience. He can be heard on the recording of Barbara Cook's Carnegie Hall concert "No One is Alone" as well as the voice of Papi on Nickelodeon's "Go, Diego, Go!"
Reichard currently plays Bob Gaudio in Jersey Boys, a role he created at the La Jolla Playhouse world premiere. The actor made his New York debut in Forbidden Broadway: 20th Anniversary Celebration and played Keith Haring in the Public Theater's Radiant Baby. He also appeared Off-Broadway in The Thing About Men. He will next appear in the upcoming New York City Opera production of Candide.

Des McAnuff (The Who's Tommy, Big River) directs the story of American pop group The Four Seasons — the highs, the lows and all in between — which comes to life in the musical Jersey Boys with the help of their hits "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Walk Like A Man," "December 1963 (Oh, What A Night)" and more.
The show began on Broadway Oct. 4, 2005, and opened at the August Wilson Theatre Nov. 6.
Jersey Boys features music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, and a book by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice. The production garnered four Tony Award wins for stars John Lloyd Young and Christian Hoff, lighting designer Howell Binkley and for the top prize Best Musical.
