Straight Up with a Twist, according to press notes, "takes a look at one family, as they try to figure out a straight guy who says: 'Don't call my house during the football game…that's when I vacuum!"' In the production, "Stroili portrays his Bronx-born mother, his Italian father, his Goombah brother, and a host of other characters who struggle to understand a straight guy who 'can't work power tools, but can perfectly fold a fitted sheet.'"
Directed by Bill Penton, Straight Up with a Twist is produced by David and Hyra George (Millrock). The production has previously been filmed for a one-hour television comedy special.
Straight Up with a Twist will officially open Jan. 24 at the Players Theatre, located in Manhattan at 115 MacDougal Street. Tickets, priced $45, are available by calling (212)239-6200 or by visiting www.Telecharge.com.
