Tony Winner Gleason to Star in Holtzman's Something You Did Off-Broadway

| photo by Aubrey Reuben | Tony Award winner Joanna Gleason, most recently on Broadway in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, will star in the upcoming Primary Stages production of Willy Holtzman's Something You Did.
Carolyn Cantor directs the New York premiere of the work, which is slated to run March 18-April 26. Opening night is scheduled for April 1.
Gleason, who will play the role of Alison, will be joined onstage by Jordan Charney (Hearts), who will play Arthur, Alison's lawyer.
With Something You Did, Holtzman (Sabina) pens a drama that centers on "a notorious sixties radical who has served nearly 30 years in prison for her part in the accidental killing of an African-American police officer during an explosive war protest. Now she is eligible for parole in a post 9/11 world where bombing is terrorism and dissent is treason."
Gleason, who earned her Tony for Into the Woods, was last seen on Broadway in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels — for which she earned her third Tony nomination (her first nod was for Joe Egg). Other credits include I Love My Wife, The Real Thing, Social Security, Nick and Nora, The Normal Heart, It's Only a Play and Eleemosynary. On film she has been seen in "Hannah and Her Sisters," "Crimes and Misdemeanors," "Boogie Nights" and "Mr. Holland's Opus."
The Off-Broadway troupe next presents the world premiere run of Brooke Berman's Hunting and Gathering (Jan. 22-March 1, 2008). Something You Did concludes the company's 23rd season, which began with the New York premieres of Michael Hollinger's Opus and Horton Foote's Dividing the Estate. The latter is expected to head to Broadway next season.
