Julie White, who won a Tony Award for her comedic performance in Douglas Carter Beane's The Little Dog Laughed, has found her newest stage project.

White will star in the Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming production of From Up Here, according to a press notice. She will be joined onstage by Aya Cash, Will Rogers and Joel Van Liew.

Liz Flahive's play — presented by MTC and Ars Nova — is scheduled to begin previews at City Center Stage I March 27 with an official opening April 16. Leigh Silverman directs.

In From Up Here, press notes state, "Kenny Barrett did something that has everyone worried. He wishes he could just make it through the rest of his senior year unnoticed, but that's going to be hard since he has to publicly apologize to his entire high school. At home, his family is struggling with second marriages, surprise visits, school dances, and forgotten dry cleaning."

White will play Grace Warren, the recently remarried mother of Kenny and Lauren Barrett. Cash will play Lauren, Kenny Barrett's sister; Rogers will play Charlie, a schoolmate of Lauren and Kenny's, and Van Liew will play both Mr. Goldberger, the school counselor, and Stevens, a recent acquaintance of the family.

The design team will include Allen Moyer (scenic design), Mattie Ullrich (costume design) and Pat Collins (lighting design). Additional casting and creative team members will be announced at a later date.

Prior to her Tony win for The Little Dog Laughed, Julie White appeared onstage in Bad Dates, Fiction, The Heidi Chronicles, Dinner With Friends, Barbra's Wedding, Spike Heels and The Family of Mann. Her film credits include "Transformers," "The Astronaut Farmer," "The Nanny Diaries" and "Michael Clayton." White has been seen on the small screen in "Cavemen," "Desperate Housewives," "Grace Under Fire" and "Six Feet Under."

Playwright Liz Flahive is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts Department of Dramatic Writing. Her plays have been produced, workshopped or read at NYU, Williamstown Theater Festival, Naked Angels and Ars Nova. She also volunteers with The 52nd Street Project, an organization that pairs inner-city kids with professional theatre artists to create original theatre.

City Center Stage I is located at 131 West 55th Street. Tickets are available by calling (212) 581-1212, by logging on to NYCityCenter.org or by visiting the New York City Center box office.
