"A Raisin in the Sun" TimesTalk Presented Feb. 4; Ryan, McShane and Lange to Come

The stars and director of the upcoming ABC movie "A Raisin in the Sun" appear at a Feb. 4 TimesTalks event. Scheduled for future talks are Broadway stars Amy Ryan, Deanna Dunagan, Ian McShane, Brian Cox, Jessica Lange and Gypsy producer Scott Rudin.

Times Talks take place at The TimesCenter and are traditionally moderated by a member of the New York publication's staff.

Talks of note for theatre fans follow:

  • Feb. 4: "A Raisin in the Sun: The Legacy of Playwright Lorraine Hansberry"
    Following a special preview screening of the forthcoming ABC world premiere movie event, audiences can hear director Kenny Leon and cast members Sean Combs, Audra McDonald and Phylicia Rashad (from the 2004 Broadway revival and new television movie adaptation) discuss the work.

  • Feb. 5: "Breaking Through: Filmmakers Making Their Marks"
    Actresses Amy Ryan (A Streetcar Named Desire, "Gone Baby Gone") and Ellen Page as well as director Jason Reitman (both of "Juno") "discuss their breakthrough performances in film."

  • Feb. 12: "Scott Rudin: Major Production"
    The producer of stage and film will "discuss the art and business of producing," including his work on "No Country for Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood" as well as the new Gypsy revival.

  • Feb. 25: "Dramatic License/Actors on Broadway"
    Deanna Dunagan (August: Osage County), Ian McShane (The Homecoming) and Brian Cox (Rock 'n' Roll) speak about how "the New York stage is again home to strong, moving dramas."

  • Feb. 28 "Jessica Lange American Actress"
    The star of stage and screen discusses her starring role in the new film "Bonneville" as well as "her most notable roles and her work in film."
