Jennifer Cody — last on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning revival of The Pajama Game — will star in the title role of the upcoming revival of Theatreworks USA's family-friendly musical Junie B. Jones, which is scheduled to begin previews at the Lucille Lortel Theatre March 20.

Directed by Peter Flynn with choreography by Devanand Janki, the production will play through May 4 with an official opening March 22 at 5 PM.

Joining Cody onstage will be Randy Aaron (Dame Edna: Back with a Vengeance) as Sheldon, Shannon Antalan (Caroline, or Change) as Lucille, Blake Ginther (Les Misérables revival) as Herb, Sarah Saltzberg (Spelling Bee) as May and John Scherer (Lovemusik) as Mr. Scary/Gladys Gutzman.

Based on Barbara Park's book series, Junie B. Jones features book and lyrics by Marcy Heisler and music by Zina Goldrich.

In the musical Junie, according to production notes, experiences "a new teacher, new classmates, new glasses, and other angst-ridden first grade situations as she records all her adventures in her Top-Secret Personal Beeswax journal." The production is recommended for children age five and older.

Junie will feature scenic design by Luke Hegel-Cantarella, costume design by Lora LaVon, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, sound design by Eric Shim and orchestrations by Scott Davenport Richards.

Jennifer Cody has appeared on Broadway in Cats, Beauty and the Beast, Grease, Seussical, Urinetown, Taboo and The Pajama Game. Cody is married to actor Hunter Foster.

Junie B. Jones was previously seen at the Lortel in November 2005 with a cast that included Russell Arden Koplin, Randy Aaron, Jill Abramovitz, Michael McCoy, Adam Overett and Yasmeen Sulieman.

Show times are Fridays at 6 PM, Saturdays at 11 AM, 2 and 5 PM and Sundays at 11 AM and 2 PM.

The Lucille Lortel Theatre is located in Manhattan at 121 Christopher Street. Tickets, priced $25, are available by calling (212) 279-4200 or by visiting www.ticketCentral.com.
