Natasha Wood Will Roll With Laughter in West End Benefit March 30

By Mark Shenton
25 Mar 2008

Natasha Wood will bring her one-woman autobiographical play, Rolling with Laughter, to the West End's Her Majesty's Theatre for one night only March 30, as a gala to benefit the Jennifer Trust for Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

Wood was born with the same genetic disorder, which means she's too weak to even lift a pint of beer. But this has not stood in the way of her full-frontal assault on life, some of which she narrates in this unique take on life, lingerie and love — with, as the press materials put it, "a little disability sprinkled on top."

The show, co-written by Wood with Beverly Sanders, was seen at the last Edinburgh Fringe, where it played at the Pleasance Dome and The Scotsman acclaimed her as "a motorized Mae West." It subsequently transferred to London's New End Theatre, and has also played at the El Portal in Los Angeles. The show is directed by Cameron Watson.

To book tickets, contact the box office on 0870 890 0143, or for more information, visit www.rollingwithlaughter.com.
