Finn to Host Celebrating the New at Birdland March 31

Tony Award winner William Finn will host the Barrington Stage Company benefit Celebrating the New at Birdland on March 31.

Finn, who workshopped his musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at Barrington Stage, will host the evening of song benefiting Barrington's Musical Theatre Lab. Showtime is 6 PM.

Celebrating the New boasts the talents of Xanadu's Mary Testa; Megan Lawrence of The Pajama Game; Matt Caplan and Charlie Brady of Lincoln Center's South Pacific; as well as The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin composer Kirsten Childs; songwriting team Chris Miller and Nathan Tysen; Nina Negri and singer/songwriter Nikos Tsakalakos; as well as Alysha Umphress and Demond Green.

Among the works presented during Celebrating the New will be previous Barrington selections The Burnt Part Boys, Travels With My Discontent and Funked Up Fairy Tales, as well as a preview of upcoming Barrington Lab productions including The Mysteries of Harris Burdick, My Scary Girl and See Rock City & Other Destinations.

Celebrating the New begins at 6 PM with cocktails and dinner to follow at 7 PM. The performance will commence at 7:45 PM. Tickets are available by phoning (413) 499-5446 ext. 106 and will also be available for purchase at the door.

Birdland is located in Manhattan at 315 West 44th Street, between Eighth and Ninth Avenues.
