Lansbury to Host On Broadway! Musical Benefit This Fall

Four-time Tony Award winner Angela Lansbury will host the 23rd anniversary Career Transition For Dancers' gala On Broadway! A Glittering Salute to the American Musical Oct. 27.
The annual benefit will be followed by a supper with the stars in The Hilton's Grand Ballroom. Written by Deborah Grace Winer and produced and directed by Ann Marie DeAngelo, On Broadway! is a "glorious historical journey inside the Broadway musical seen through the eyes of legendary choreographers."
Musicians, dancers and theatre stars are expected to be part of the performance. Casting will be announced at a later date. The Honorary Chairs are Cynthia Gregory, Donna McKechnie, Kevin McKenzie, Jane Powell, Ann Reinking and Chita Rivera.
Lansbury made a return to the Broadway stage last season opposite Marian Seldes in Terrence McNally's Deuce . Lansbury's illustrious career spans 50 years, including four Tony Awards for her performances in Sweeney Todd , Dear World , Gypsy and Mame . In 1944 Lansbury made her film debut in "Gaslight," which earned her an Academy Award nomination. She's well known to television audiences as Jessica Fletcher in the series "Murder, She Wrote."
