Mary Poppins Tour Will Arrive in Chicago in March 2009

The national tour of the Disney-Cameron Mackintosh musical Mary Poppins will arrive in Chicago March 2009, part of the Broadway in Chicago season series.

The limited engagement of the musical based on both the original stories by P. L. Travers and the beloved Walt Disney film will begin its run in the Windy City March 11. The Poppins tour has also been announced for St. Louis' Fox Theatre, Aug. 13-30, 2009.

The subscription series will also include the following offerings: the national tour of the family-favorite Grease (Jan. 6-18, 2009), Chazz Palminteri in his one-man show A Bronx Tale (March 9-22, 2009), the national tour of the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical A Chorus Line (April 14-May 3, 2009) and a limited engagement of the national tour of Xanadu (beginning January 2009).

The non-subscription shows will be:

  • Monty Python's Spamalot (Jan. 20-Feb. 1, 2009)

  • Rain: The Beatles Experience (March 3-8, 2009)

  • Shout! — The Mod Musical (April 30-June 22, 2008)

    Theatre locations for the newly added productions will be announced at a later date.
