Oscar Nominations to Be Announced in January 2009

According to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences website, nominations for the film industry's highest honor will be announced at 5:30 PT live from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in California.
The nominations announcement was switched from the traditional Tuesday morning to a Thursday morning to avoid a conflict with the 2009 Presidential Inauguration.
The annual Academy Awards ceremony will be held Feb. 22, 2009, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, CA. ABC-TV will broadcast the event live.
Other key dates include Feb. 2, 2009 (nominees luncheon), Feb. 7, 2009 (Scientific and Technical Achievement Awards presentation) and Feb. 17, 2009 (final polls close at 5 PM PT).
