Tony Winner Julie White Will Host Lortel Awards

Tony Award winner Julie White, currently on stage in From Up Here at Manhattan Theatre Club, will host The 23rd Annual Lucille Lortel Awards May 5 at the Union Square Theatre.

The awards celebrate excellence in Off-Broadway theatre.

White's theatre credits include The Little Dog Laughed (Tony Award-Best Actress; Obie Award; Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Lucille Lortel, Drama League nominations), Fiction, The Heidi Chronicles, Dinner With Friends, Barbra's Wedding and also Bad Dates, Spike Heels and The Family of Man all by Theresa Rebeck. TV credits include "Cavemen," HBO's "Six Feet Under," "Grace Under Fire" and more.

A limited number of tickets for the ceremony only will go on sale to the public on April 1 at the Union Square Theatre box office and through TicketMaster.com at (212) 307-7171.

The 2007-2008 Lucille Lortel Awards nominating/voting committee is appointed by the League of Off-Broadway Theatres & Producers, the Lucille Lortel Foundation, Actors' Equity Association, Society of Stage Directors & Choreographers, and also includes journalists, educators, and other Off-Broadway theatre professionals.

Awarded since 1986, the Lucille Lortel Awards are produced by the League by special arrangement with the Lucille Lortel Foundation.
