PHOTO CALL: The Country Girl Returns to Broadway

The revival of Clifford Odets' The Country Girl — starring Frances McDormand, Morgan Freeman and Peter Gallagher — recently opened at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

Mike Nichols directs the starry production that also features Chip Zien, Remy Auberjonois, Anna Camp, Lucas Caleb Rooney and Joe Roland.

The Country Girl is "a classic backstage story," as billed in show notes. "The title character, Georgie (McDormand), is married to actor Frank Elgin (Freeman), once a great theatre star, now down on his luck. When Frank is offered a major role by hotshot director Bernie Dodd (Gallagher), he has the chance to make a major comeback."
