Midday in the Park with Stars: Broadway Show League Season to Begin May 22

Laura Benanti, Tituss Burgess, Alison Fraser, Mandy Gonzalez, Shuler Hensley, Chris Jackson, Carly Jibson, Richard Klein, Andrea Martin, Laurie Metcalf and Laura Osnes will be on hand to kick off the new season of softball for the Broadway Show League.

Opening day will take place May 22 at the Heckscher Softball Fields in New York City's Central Park. The 2008 season marks the 54th for the league. Anheuser-Busch is this year's official sponsor.

Passing Strange cast members Stew, Rebecca Naomi Jones and Colman Domingo will perform the national anthem, and Mr. Met (The New York Mets' official mascot) will also make an appearance opening day.

Among the shows scheduled to hit the diamond this season are A Chorus Line, Altar Boyz, August: Osage County, Avenue Q, Blue Man Group, Chicago, Cry-Baby, Gypsy, Hairspray, In the Heights, Jersey Boys, Legally Blonde, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Mamma Mia!, Mary Poppins, November, The Phantom of the Opera, Rent, South Pacific, Spring Awakening, Sunday in the Park with George, Wicked and Young Frankenstein.
