By Andrew Gans
15 May 2008

Lauren Kennedy

Broadway singer-actress Lauren Kennedy, who recently performed at London's Menier Chocolate Factory, will celebrate her two PS Classics recordings May 18 at the Zipper Factory in Manhattan.

Kennedy, who was most recently on Broadway in Monty Python's Spamalot, will be joined by a host of special guests for her 8 PM performance, including husband Alan Campbell (Sunset Boulevard) as well as Asmeret Ghebremichael (Legally Blonde), Jeremy Schonfeld and Dan Lipton. She will be backed by music director Fred Lassen on piano, Kevin Kuhn (guitar), Mark Vanderpoel (bass), Howard Joines (drums), Christian Hebel (violin) and Aaron Heick (reeds).

Concertgoers can expect to hear tunes from Kennedy's solo recordings "The Songs of Jason Robert Brown" and "Here and Now."

Lauren Kennedy was most recently seen on the Broadway stage as the Lady of the Lake in the Tony-winning musical Spamalot. She covered the role of Daisy Hilton in the Broadway production of Side Show and also appeared in the New York companies of Sunset Boulevard and Les Misérables. Kennedy starred in The Rhythm Club and was also a part of the early incarnations of Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years. Kennedy previously crossed the Atlantic to star in the National Theatre's revival of South Pacific. She was also seen in The Ten Commandments: The Spectacle Musical.

The Zipper Factory is located in Manhattan at 336 West 37th. For tickets call (212) 352-3101 or visit www.thezipperfactory.com.
