Findlay and Field Will Star in Vincent River for Brits Off-Broadway

By Adam Hetrick
16 May 2008

Olivier Award winner Deborah Findlay will star in the New York premiere of Vincent River, presented as part of the ongoing Brits Off-Broadway series at 59E59 Theatres.

Findlay, who earned an Olivier for her work in Stanley and an Obie for Caryl Churchill's Top Girls, will star opposite British newcomer Mark Field. Steve Marmion directs the production that runs June 10-29.

Following an acclaimed run at London's Trafalgar Studios last season, Philip Ridley's Vincent River, according to festival notes, "focuses on the meeting between a grief-stricken mother and a young boy who is in some way connected to the death of her son."

A selection of plays from England, Scotland and Wales — as well as the festival's first musical offering — are on the bill for the Brits Off-Broadway festival that runs through June 29. Performances began April 23.

Brits Off-Broadway productions include Damascus, Artefacts, Blink, The Hired Man and Some Kind of Bliss.

Single tickets for Brits Off-Broadway range $27.50-$50. Four-show passes are also available for $125. For tickets and further information phone (212) 279-4200 or visit www.britsoffbroadway.com.
