Quintet centers on four elderly opera singers who must put aside their differences when they reunite to perform the third act quartet from Rigoletto for a gala concert celebrating Verdi's birthday.
Harwood previously adapted his stage works The Dresser and Taking Sides for the screen. His plays also include Goodbye Kiss/Guests, After the Lions, The Good Companions, Mahler's Conversion and See U Next Tuesday. He has penned the screenplays for "Being Julia," "Love in the Time of Cholera," "Operation Daybreak," "The Statement" and his 2008 Academy Award-nominated work "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly."
