The creators of August: Osage County and Passing Strange received their New York Drama Critics' Circle Awards for, respectively, Best Play and Best Musical at a May 19 reception.

The organization presented its 73rd annual awards ceremony at the birthplace of the NYDCC, New York City's Algonquin Hotel.

Playwright Edward Albee and actress Marian Seldes were on hand to present the honors to playwright Tracy Letts as well as the musical team of Stew and Heidi Rodewald and director Annie Dorsen.
