Transport Group will present a 40th anniversary celebration of Mart Crowley's landmark play The Boys in the Band June 16.

"An Evening With . . .The Boys in the Band" will be held at the Lucille Lortel Theatre and will feature a reading of the 1968 play and a panel discussion. The evening, which begins at 6:30 PM, will boast the talents of Patrick Boll, Manoel Felciano, Barrett Foa, Malcolm Gets, David Greenspan, Jonathan Hammond, Christopher Innvar, Norm Lewis and John Wellman.

The panel discussion will be hosted by Village Voice critic Michael Feingold and will include playwright Crowley; Dominick Dunne, who produced the 1970 "Boys" film; and original Boys cast members Laurence Luckinbill and Peter White.

Crowley's play is about a group of gay men who hire a hustler as a birthday present for their friend but wind up spending the night of the party airing their pleasures and miseries. One of the first plays to deal with contemporary life among gay men, Band went on to become a 1,000-performance hit in its original production.

The Lucille Lortel Theatre is located in Manhattan at 121 Christopher Street. For tickets, priced $45-$100, visit www.ovationtix.com/trs/store/100.
