Ensemble Studio Theatre Announces Final Casting for Marathon 2008

Casting has been announced for the third installment of Ensemble Studio Theatre's one-act play festival, Marathon 2008.

The ongoing Marathon, currently running through June 28, presents short works from emerging and established playwrights. The playwrights represented include David Auburn, Lewis Black, Michael Feingold, Michael John Garcés, Frank D. Gilroy, Amy Herzog, Neil LaBute, Quincy Long, Taylor Mac, Willie Reale & Patrick Barnes, Jacquelyn Reingold, José Rivera, Lloyd Suh, Anne Washburn, and David Zellnik.

Grouped in three different series and including 15 world premieres, the works are performed in rotating repertory. Casting has now been announced for the third and final collection of works that comprise Series C.

The plays and respective casts for Series C are In Between Songs by Lewis Black, featuring Jack Gilpin, David Wohl and CC deWolf (directed by Joe Grifasi and Rebecca Nelson); Japanoir by Michael Feingold, featuring Alexis Camins, Jackie Chung, Karen Lee, Glenn Kuboto, Jo mei, Raj Bose, Steven Eng, John Haggerty and Leslie Ayvazian (directed by Richard Hamburger); Piscary by Frank D. Gilroy, featuring Diane Davis and Mark Alhadeff (directed by Janet Zarish); Flowers by José Rivera, featuring Raul Castillo and Flora Diaz (directed by Linsay Firman); and A Very Very Short Play by Jacquelyn Reingold, featuring Julie Fitzpatrick and Adam Dannheisser (directed by Jonathan Bernstein).

Previously confirmed productions and their casts for Series A include An Upset by David Auburn, with Matt Lauria and Darren Goldstein (directed by Harris Yulin); Christmas Present by Amy Herzog, with Julie Fitzpatrick and Jake Hoffman (directed by RJ Tolan); A Little Soul-Searching by Willie Reale, music by Patrick Barnes, with Michael Potts and Karen Trott (directed by Evan Cabnet); Tostitos by Michael John Garcés, with Andres Munar, Jenny Gomez, Berrett Doss and Howard Overshown (directed by May Adrales); and Wedding Pictures by Quincy Long, with Petronia Paley, Autumn Dornfield, Eric Gilde and Jacob Hawkins (directed by Kathleen Dimmick).

Series B includes The Great War by Neil LaBute, with Grant Shaud and Laila Robins (directed by Andrew McCarthy); Okay by Taylor Mac, with Jessica Jade Andres, Kether Donohue, Susannah Flood, Danny Fernandez, Travis Hsieh, Olivia Mandell and Johnny Pruit; Happy Birthday William Abernathy by Lloyd Suh, with Joe Paneseki and Peter Kim; Ideogram by David Zellnik, with Pun Bandhu, Bryan Fenkart and Siho Ellsmore (directed by Abigail Zealy Bess); and October/November by Anne Washburn, with Gio Perez and Amelia McLain.
