Charles Busch and Julie Halston head the cast of the Bay Street Theatre production of Shanghai Moon, which begins performances June 3.

Busch's Die Mommie Die! director Carl Andreas stages the Bay Street Theatre production that will run through June 29.

Tony nominee Busch and his comedic partner in crime Halston lead a cast that also features Jarlath Conroy (The Weir), Jodi Lin (Queens Boulevard, the Musical), Gordana Rashovich (Old Acquaintance) and Thom Sesma (The Times They Are a Changin').

Shanghai Moon follows the American-born wife of an aged British diplomat who travels to Shanghai with her husband. She begins a fatal love affair with the mysterious General Gong Fei.

Busch's play is based on such movie and stage melodramas as "The Bitter Tea of General Yen," "The Letter," The Green Hat, "The Cheat" and "Shanghai Express." Shanghai Moon premiered Off-Broadway in 1999 at Theater for the New City.

The design team for Shanghai Moon includes B.T. Whitehill (set design), Dona Granata (costume design), Katherine M. Carr (wig design), Philip Rosenberg (lighting design) and Jill B.C. Du Boff (sound design).

Tickets can be purchased online at www.baystreet.org or by calling (631) 725-9500.
