Broadway and screen star Bobby Cannavale will join the cast of the upcoming MCC Theater reading of Neil LaBute's Fat Pig.

The actor joins previously announced star Ashlie Atkinson (who appeared in the original cast). Original director Jo Bonney also returns with Steven Pasquale and Jessica Capshaw (both reprising their turns from later in the original run) for the June 9 reading.

MCC will present Fat Pig and The Shape of Things in conjunction with its current run of LaBute's reasons to be pretty. The series will spotlight the scribe's trilogy "exploring America's obsession with physical beauty."

The Shape of Things will be read June 23 with original cast member Paul Rudd under the direction of Carolyn Cantor. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

Readings will take place at 7 PM at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, currently the home to reasons to be pretty.

Piper Perabo, Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski and Pablo Schreiber star in pretty. Terry Kinney directed the production, which plays through July 5.

Premium reserved seats for the readings are available now for donors who make a $100 contribution by calling MCC's Development Department at (212) 727-7722 ext. 233.

A limited number of general admission tickets ($20) will go on sale May 27 through mcctheater.com. or by calling (212) 279-4200.
