The Shakespeare in the Park staging of Hair – starring Jonathan Groff, Will Swenson and Patina Renea Miller – has extended its run at the Delacorte Theater an additional two weeks.

The Public Theater will reunite the cast from last summer's 40th anniversary concert for a full staging, which will be directed by Diane Paulus and choreographed by Passing Strange's Karole Armitage. Originally slated to run July 22-Aug. 17, Hair will now run through Aug. 31 in Central Park.

"We are thrilled to expand the run of Hair and extend the use of the Delacorte for two more weeks this summer," Public artistic director Oskar Eustis said in a statement. "Hair was the last stage musical to become America's soundtrack, and it belongs in the Delacorte – the people's theatre."

Caryn Lyn-Manuel (Rent, Brooklyn, High Fidelity) has been cast in the role of Sheila ("Easy to Be Hard"). Lyn-Manuel replaces Karen Olivo who performed the role in the concert version last September. Olivo currently stars in the Tony Award-winning Best Musical In the Heights. Also new to the cast is Jackie Burns, who will appear in the White Boys Trio.

In addition to Groff as Claude, Swenson as Berger and Miller as Dionne, Hair reunites last season's company, including Ato Blankson-Wood (Tribe), Steel Burkhardt (Tribe), Allison Case (Crissy), Lauren Elder (Tribe), Allison Guinn (Tribe), Anthony Hollock (Tribe), Kaitlin Kiyan (Tribe), Andrew Kober (Father/Margaret Mead), Megan Lawrence (Mother), Nicole Lewis (White Boys Trio/Tribe), John M. Moauro (Tribe), Darius Nichols (Hud), Brandon Pearson (Tribe), Megan Reinking (Black Boys Trio/Tribe), Paris Remillard (Tribe), Bryce Ryness (Woof), Saycon Sengbloh (White Boys Trio/Tribe), Maya Sharpe (Tribe), Kacie Sheik (Jeanie), Theo Stockman (Tribe), and Tommar Wilson (Tribe).

Designing Hair will be Scott Pask (set design), Michael McDonald (costume design), Michael Chybowski (lighting design) and Acme Sound Partners (sound design).

Featuring book and lyrics by James Rado and Gerome Ragni and music by Galt MacDermot, Hair made theatre history with its rock 'n roll anti-establishment concept.

Performances of Shakespeare in the Park are Tuesday-Sunday at 8 PM. Tickets are free and are available on the day of the performance (two per person) at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park beginning at 1 PM, or by entering the Public's online ticketing lottery at www.publictheater.org.

Summer Support tickets are currently available for $165 for Hair. Summer Supporters earn reserved seats for their contributions to fund the Delacorte stagings. This opportunity, offered for a limited time, is available by calling (212) 967-7555.

The closest entrances to the Delacorte are at 81st Street and Central Park West or 70th Street and Fifth Avenue.

For additional information about Shakespeare in the Park, call (212) 539-8750 or visit The Public Theater website at www.publictheater.org.
