Will Kathleen Turner Return to Broadway in New Albee Play?

| photo by Aubrey Reuben | Kathleen Turner, who scored Tony and Olivier nominations for her work in the Broadway and London revivals of Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, may be heading back to Broadway in Albee's latest work.
On the June 18 broadcast of WNYC's "The Brian Lehrer Show," stage and screen star Turner said, "You know what, I just yesterday was offered a new play on Broadway for the fall, which I'm extremely excited about. It's the new Albee play called Me, Myself and I, so we're hoping to bring it in the fall to Broadway, and I'm really thrilled with it."
No official announcement has been made about a Broadway run of Me, Myself and I, which made its world premiere in January at the McCarter Theatre in Princeton, NJ.
McCarter's artistic director, Emily Mann, directed the New Jersey production, which boasted Tony Award winner Tyne Daly as Mother, Brian Murray as Dr., Charlotte Parry as Maureen and Stephen Payne as The Man. Colin Donnell and Michael Esper played the identical twins, who are both named Otto.
Me, Myself and I, according to press notes, is described as such: "When a pair of identical twin brothers are both named Otto, how's a mother supposed to keep them straight? Master playwright Edward Albee is in top form with this dark, funny and moving play that takes sibling rivalry to existential heights."
Edward Albee won Best Play Tony Awards for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and The Goat or Who Is Sylvia? He was also Tony nominated for The Ballad of the Sad Café, Tiny Alice, A Delicate Balance and Seascape. Albee is also the recipient of three Pulitzer Prizes, the Gold Medal in Drama from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters, the Kennedy Center Honors and the National Medal of Arts.
Four major Edward Albee productions were seen during the 2007-08 season, during which the playwright turned 80 (on March 12). The season was dubbed "The Albee Season" and included Peter and Jerry at Second Stage; Me, Myself and I at the McCarter Theatre; The Sandbox and The American Dream at the Cherry Lane Theatre; and Occupant at the Signature Theatre Company.
In addition to Virginia Woolf?, Kathleen Turner has appeared on Broadway in The Graduate, Indiscretions and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, for which she also earned a Tony nomination. Other theatre credits include productions of Travesties, The Seagull and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She starred in the one-woman show Tallulah, which she toured across the U.S. Her films include "Body Heat," "The Man With Two Brains" " Crimes of Passion," "Romancing the Stone," "Jewel of the Nile," "Peggy Sue Got Married," "Prizzi’s Honor" "The Real Blonde," "The Virgin Suicides," "Baby Geniuses," "The War of the Roses," "Serial Mom," "Switching Channels," "V.I. Warshawski," "Moonlight and Valentino," "The Accidental Tourist" and "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?"
