Flores, Tam, Albano, Davis and More Are Part of June 23 China Earthquake Relief Benefit Concert

A host of singers and musicians will assemble June 23 at the Evergreen Restaurant in Murray Hill to raise money for victims of the Sichuan, China earthquake.

Presented by Zhumonkeymusic, the concert features the talents of Li Jun Li (South Pacific), Jason Tam (A Chorus Line), Grammy nominee Ruben Flores, Ali Ewoldt (Les Miserables), Heather Parcells (A Chorus Line), Zach James (Coram Boy, South Pacific), Aaron J. Albano (Spelling Bee, Mary Poppins), Garrett Long (South Pacific), Kevin Bernard (Curtains), Laura Schutter (Mary Poppins), MaryAnn Hu (South Pacific), Deborah Lew (Beauty and the Beast), T. Oliver Reid (Damn Yankees), Jeremy Davis (South Pacific), Diane Phelan (West Side Story 50th anniversary tour), Joanne Javien (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Emily Morales (South Pacific) and Christopher DiCristo (Broadway Boys).

Mat Eisentein is the musical director for the evening, which begins at 6 PM with appetizers and wine followed by the 7 PM concert.

All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross, directly benefiting the victims of the earthquake. Richard Feng Zhu, organizer of the event and executive director of Zhumonkeymusic, said in a previous statement, "The essence of this event is not only to raise money for the tens and thousands of people who are in need now, but also to inspire those in attendance to continue to help in the future."

The event is made possible by a $15,000 contribution from Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS with additional support provided by Evergreen Restaurant and Zhumonkeymusic.
