Starring Brooks Ashmanskas and Kate Baldwin as Georg and Amalia, respectively, She Loves Me is a co-production with Boston's Huntington Theatre where the musical concluded performances June 15.
Under the direction of newly appointed WTF artistic director Nicholas Martin (former artistic director of the Huntington Theatre), She Loves Me will delight Williamstown audiences through July 12.
In addition to Ashmanskas and Baldwin, the cast also includes The Drowsy Chaperone's Troy Britton Johnson as Steven Kodaly, Tony Award winner Dick Latessa as Mr. Maraczek, Jessica Stone as Ilona, Jeremy Beck as Arpad, Mark Nelson as Sipos and Mark Vietor as the Headwaiter. The ensemble comprises Monique Alhaddad, Ashley Arcement, Jason Babinsky, Nancy E. Carroll, Aldrin Gonzales, Rosie Hunter, Matthew Kiernan, Josh Mertz, Kat Nejat and Sarah Turner.
She Loves Me — the 1963 romantic musical comedy by Joe Masteroff, Sheldon Harnick and Jerome Bock — tells the tale of two lovesick pen pals who aren't as anonymous as they believe.
Bock and Harnick are best known for writing the score to Fiddler on the Roof. Their work also includes the Pulitzer Prize-winning Fiorello! as well as The Apple Tree, Tenderloin and The Rothschilds.
Masteroff wrote the book for the Kander and Ebb musical, Cabaret.
