The Los Angeles Theatre Works production of Neil Simon's Broadway Bound – starring Scott Wolf and Jonathan Silverman – begins performances July 9.

Jenny Sullivan directs the production, which is part of LATW's nationally syndicated "The Play's The Thing" radio theatre series. Broadway Bound runs through July 13 at the Skirball Cultural Center and will be recorded for future broadcast.

Wolf portrays Eugene in Broadway Bound, Simon's final installment of the "Eugene Trilogy" that includes Brighton Beach Memoirs and Biloxi Blues. Joining Wolf onstage is Silverman – who portrayed Eugene in the film of "Brighton Beach Memoirs as well as on Broadway in Broadway Bound – in the role of Eugene's older brother Stan.

Broadway Bound also features Jobeth Williams ("Poltergeist," The Vagina Monologues) as Kate, Dan Castellaneta ("The Simpsons") as Jack, Caroline Aaron ("Curb Your Enthusiasm") as Blanche/Mrs. Pitkin, Alan Mandell ("Trying" at the Colony Theatre) as Ben and Kyle Colerider-Krugh as the announcer.

In Broadway Bound, press notes state, "Eugene returns home from World War II and pairs up with his older brother Stanley (based on Simon's brother and early writing partner Danny) to break into the world of professional comedy writing. Inspiration strikes when they aim their sights on their dysfunctional family — and then the network broadcasts it nationwide!"

For tickets, priced $20-$47, to any of "The Play's The Thing" productions at the Skirball Cultural Center, 2701 N. Sepulveda Boulevard, call the L.A. Theatre Works box office at (310) 827-0889. For more information visit latw.org.
