The 2008 Capital Fringe Festival in Washington, DC, runs July 10–27, when hundreds of creative and innovative performers, directors, designers and writers strut their stuff in numerous venues in the nation's capital.
This year's festival is the largest since the tradition started in the District three years ago. There will be more performances, more venues and more artists than ever before.
The festival is 30 percent larger than 2007's festival.
As a self-producing festival, Capital Fringe will continue to give approximately 70 percent of the revenue generated from ticket sales to performing arts groups in the festival. Last year, the fest took in $240,000 in ticket revenue.
