The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center will present a staged reading of Terrence McNally's The Lisbon Traviata Aug. 11 at the LGBT Theatre in Manhattan.

Directed by Hector Lugo, the one-night-only event will feature the talents of Jeffrey Schecter, Will Taylor, Patrick O'Neill and Timothy J. Alex with Gail Dennison and Austin Murphy.

The evening will begin at 6 PM with a VIP cocktail reception followed by the 7 PM reading.

The Lisbon Traviata, according to press notes, is "the flamboyantly bitchy, and brilliant gay play that inimitably explores gay relationships, and celebrates opera gay icon, Maria Callas."

Lisbon Traviata premiered Off-Broadway in 1989 with a cast that included Nathan Lane, Anthony Heald, Dan Butler and John Slattery.

The LGBT Theatre is located in Manhattan at 208 West 13th Street. Tickets, priced $20 (general admission) and $35 (VIP seating with an open bar), are available by calling (212) 620-7310 or by visiting www.gaycenter.org.

LGBT Theatre, is an emerging not-for-profit all-inclusive, organization that is "dedicated to producing theatrical work promoting the advancement, education, acceptance and  understanding of alternative lifestyles in society."
