The Underpants, Like You Like It and Bus Stop are on the bill for Brooklyn's Gallery Players 2008-2009 season.

Three plays and three musicals (one still to be announced) comprise the 42nd season, which will conclude with the Gallery Players' twelfth annual Black Box New Play Festival in June 2009.

The season gets underway Sept. 13-28 with Steve Martin's adaptation of Carl Sternheim's The Underpants. Seth Soloway will direct Martin's take on "the classic German play about Louise and Theo Markes, a couple whose conservative existence is shattered when Louise's bloomers fall down in public."

Up next is the new musical Like You Like It. The 1985 shopping mall-set take on Shakespeare's As You Like It runs Oct. 18-Nov. 2. Igor Goldin directs the former NYMF production that features book and lyrics by Sammy Buck and music by Daniel Acquisto. Like You Like It will have musical direction by Jeffrey Campos and choreography by Keith Andrews.

Brooklyn welcomes the holidays with A Tuna Christmas, running Dec. 6-21. The Texas townsfolk of Greater Tuna are at it again in the sequel penned by Ed Howard, Joe Sears and Jaston Williams.

William Inge's Bus Stop, the classic tale of travelers stranded at a Kansas City diner during a snowstorm, runs March 14-29, 2009.

The final full production will be the rock musical The Who's Tommy. Featuring a book by Des McAnuff and Pete Townshend with music and lyrics by Townshend, John Entwistle and Keith Moon, the 60's-set story of a young pinball wizard runs May 2-24, 2009.

The season concludes with the Gallery Players' Black Box New Play Festival, running June 6-21, 2009. The Gallery Players will announce an additional winter musical, running Jan. 31-Feb. 22, 2009, in the near future.

Casting and creative duties for the Gallery Players season will be announced shortly.

The Gallery Players is located in Park Slope, Brooklyn, at 199 14th Street. Those in Manhattan can reach the theatre by taking the F train to 4th Avenue or the R train to 9th Street.
