Tony Award winner Jefferson Mays, who recently played Henry Higgins in the Broadway revival of Pygmalion, will again play that role for the Ogunquit Playhouse. This time, however, the Tony-winning actor will star in the musical version of the George Bernard Shaw play, My Fair Lady.

Mays, who was honored with a Tony for his performance in I Am My Own Wife, will play Professor Henry Higgins opposite Gail Bennett (The Producers) as flower vendor Eliza Doolittle. The classic Lerner and Loewe musical will play the Maine venue Aug. 13-Sept. 6.

The cast will also boast Tony nominees Nancy Dussault (The Sound of Music) as Mrs. Higgins and Timothy Jerome (The Phantom of the Opera) as Alfred P. Doolittle with Conrad John Schuck (Annie) as Pickering and Will Ray (Meet Me in St. Louis) as Freddy.

Shaun Kerrison, who was associate director for the recent U.S. national tour of My Fair Lady, will direct.

Based on George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, My Fair Lady has book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. The musical tale of a linguist who makes a bet to turn a guttersnipe into a refined woman includes such Broadway classics as "I Could Have Danced All Night," "On the Street Where You Live," "The Rain in Spain," "I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face," "Wouldn't It Be Loverly?" and "Get Me to the Church on Time."

Tickets are available by phoning (207) 646-5511 or by visiting OgunquitPlayhouse.
