John Lloyd Young, who is currently in rehearsals for the eagerly awaited Les Misérables in Concert (Aug. 8-10 at the Hollywood Bowl), will join his Les Miz co-star, Lea Michele, for her upcoming West Coast cabaret debut.
As previously announced, Michele will play the Upright Cabaret in Mark's Restaurant Aug. 15 and 16 at 9 PM. Lloyd Young will be one of the former Spring Awakening star's special guests.
Michele's cabaret program will feature direction by Richard Jay-Alexander — who is also directing Les Misérables in Concert — with musical direction by Ben Toth.
Michele recently played several one-night engagements at Feinstein's at Loews Regency. That act was titled Once Upon a Dream.
John Lloyd Young received a Tony Award for his work as Frank Valli in the Tony-winning musical Jersey Boys. For that performance he also won Outer Critics Circle, Drama Desk and Theatre World awards. His other theatrical credits include The Drawer Boy as well as productions at the McCarter Theatre and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Upright Cabaret in Mark's Restaurant, produced by Chris Isaacson and Shane Scheel, is located at 861 N. La Cienega Blvd. in West Hollywood, CA. For ticket information visit www.inticketing.com/evinfo.php?eventid=25950.
