The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center presents a staged reading of Terrence McNally's The Lisbon Traviata Aug. 11 at the LGBT Theatre in Manhattan.
Directed by Hector Lugo, the one-night-only event features the talents of Jeffrey Schecter, Will Taylor, Patrick O'Neill and Timothy J. Alex with Gail Dennison and Austin Murphy.
The evening begins at 6 PM with a VIP cocktail reception followed by the 7 PM reading.
The Lisbon Traviata, according to press notes, is "the flamboyantly bitchy, and brilliant gay play that inimitably explores gay relationships, and celebrates opera gay icon, Maria Callas."
Lisbon Traviata premiered Off-Broadway in 1989 with a cast that included Nathan Lane, Anthony Heald, Dan Butler and John Slattery.
