(An Aug. 8 press release erroneously stated that Maureen McGovern would star in 42nd Street Moon's Wildcat. Playbill.com has learned that it will be Maureen McVerry, not McGovern, who will head the cast of the Cy Coleman-Carolyn Leigh-N. Richard Nash musical that marked Lucille Ball's only Broadway appearance.)
Casting has also been announced for the company's season opener, the aforementioned Irma La Douce, the Parisian musical that concerns "Irma, the big-hearted streetwalker who falls for a young law student." 42nd Street Moon artistic director Greg MacKellan will direct Irma, which will feature musical direction by G. Scott Lacy and choreography by Linda Posner.
Allison Ewing will star in the title role with Steve Rhyne as Nestor Le Fripe. The company will also feature Bill Fahrner as Bob, Rudy Guerrero as Polyte Le Mou, Victor-Alexander Tapia as Roberto, Michael Barrett Austin as Persil, Nick Nakashima as Frangipane and Chris Uzelac as Jojo. The police inspector will be played by DC Scarpelli with Robert J. Cowan and Kyle Payne playing multiple roles.
42nd Street Moon productions play the Eureka Theatre, located at 215 Jackson Street in San Francisco, CA. For tickets call (415) 255-8207 or visit www.42ndstmoon.org.
