The Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park production of Hair officially opened at the Delacorte Theater Aug. 7.

Staged by Diane Paulus, the rock musical began performances July 22 and will continue its extended run through Aug. 31. The cast, led by Tony nominee Jonathan Groff as Claude, also features Will Swenson as the free-loving Berger, Bryce Ryness as Woof, Patina Renea Miller as Dionne and Caren Lyn Manuel as Sheila.

Rounding out the Tribe are Ato Blankson-Wood, Steel Burkhardt, Jackie Burns (White Boys Trio), Allison Case (Crissy), Lauren Elder, Allison Guinn, Anthony Hollock, Kaitlin Kiyan, Andrew Kober (Father/Margaret Mead), Megan Lawrence (Mother), Nicole Lewis (White Boys Trio), John M. Moauro, Darius Nichols (Hud), Brandon Pearson, Megan Reinking (Black Boys Trio), Paris Remillard, Saycon Sengbloh (White Boys Trio), Maya Sharpe, Kacie Sheik (Jeanie), Theo Stockman and Tommar Wilson.

Hair performs Tuesday-Sunday at 8 PM. Tickets are free and are available on the day of the performance (two per person) at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park beginning at 1 PM, or by entering the Public's online ticketing lottery at www.publictheater.org.

Scattered rainfall throughout the evening didn't deter a star-studded crowd from turning out for the performance, nor did the sudden heavy downpour at evening's end stop the cast from belting out the closing anthem, "Let the Sunshine In."
