Cuccioli to Star in White Plains' Camelot, Sept. 26-Oct. 5

| photo by Aubrey Reuben | Robert Cuccioli, who was Tony-nominated for his performance in Jekyll and Hyde, will star in the White Plains Performing Arts Center's upcoming production of the classic musical Camelot.
Cuccioli will play King Arthur in the White Plains production, which runs Sept. 26-Oct. 5. Additional casting will be announced shortly.
The "brand-new jewel-box" version of Camelot will be directed by Sidney J. Burgoyne. The creative team will also include music director James Bassi, set designer Michael Hotopp, costume designer T. Michael Hall and lighting designer Thom Weaver. The production stage manager is B.J. Forman.
Camelot — featuring music by Frederick Loewe and book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner — originally opened at Broadway's Majestic Theatre in Dec. 1960, playing 873 performances before closing Jan. 5, 1963. The premiere company included Richard Burton, Julie Andrews, Robert Goulet, Robert Coote, John Cullum and Roddy McDowall. The classic Lerner and Loewe score boasts such tunes as "If Ever I Would Leave You," "I Loved You Once in Silence," "Follow Me," "I Wonder What the King Is Doing Tonight" and the title tune.
The White Plains season will also include Oliver!, directed by Luke Yankee (Nov. 20–Dec. 14); A Little Night Music, directed by Sidney J. Burgoyne (March 5-22, 2009); and Hello, Dolly! directed by Jack W. Batman (April 30–May 17, 2009).
