California Music Circus' summer staging of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Evita begins its eight-performance run at Sacramento's Wells Fargo Pavilion Aug. 12.

Helmed by director Glenn Casale, the production features Julia Murney taking on the title role originated in London by Elaine Paige and on Broadway by Patti LuPone. Following a run as Elphaba in Broadway's Wicked, Murney most recently appeared on the New York stage in the premiere of the new musical Saved at Playwrights Horizons.

Murney is joined onstage by Eric Kunze Whistle Down the Wind tour) as Che, Scott Blanks as Juan Peron, Philip Michael Baskerville as Magaldi and Kari Yancy as Peron's Mistress.

The ensemble comprises Kim Arnett, Ann Cooley, Elizabeth Loren Earley, Angelina Holliman, Carolanne Marano, Rayne Marcus, Christy Morton, Michael Ramey, Freddy Ramirez, Brett Rigby, Christine Rowan, Joseph Sark, Christopher Saunders, Rocklin Thompson and Maurice Whitfield.
