Tony Award-winning actress Cady Huffman will star in the New York Musical Theatre Festival production of Wood, which begins performances Sept. 15.

Featuring music by Julianne Wick Davis, with book and lyrics by Dan Collins, Wood is among NYMF's fully produced Next Link Project musicals. Wood plays Sept. 15, 17,19, 20, 25 and 28.

Joining Huffman (The Producers) will be Stanley Bahorek (Putnam County Spelling Bee), Joe Cassidy (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Maurice Murphy (Putnam County Spelling Bee), Ryan Ratliff (Altar Boyz), Roland Rusinek (Jerry Springer the Opera), Jason Michael Snow (Saved!), Patrick Ryan Sullivan (42nd Street), Ben Thompson (High School Musical) and Kate Wetherhead (Legally Blonde).

Thomas Caruso directs the modern day re-imagining of A Midsummer Night's Dream that will feature Jason Michael Snow as the boy at the center of the story, and Huffman as his mother.

"When a young man sneaks away to the seedy wood on the outskirts of his normal town, his community is forced to face the secrets, desires and dreams long relegated to the shadowy confines at the fringe of their society," state NYMF notes for Wood. "The result is a night complete with spandex-clad color guard enthusiasts, shirtless Christians, quarreling divas, undercover mothers and a trio of Fairies who sing, dance and put En Vogue to shame from the stalls of a public men's room."

The creative team for Wood includes Andrew Parkhurst (choreography), David Rigler (costume design), Josh Zangen (scenic design) and Ed McCarthy (lighting design).

Wood, presented by Emily Miller and the New York Theatre Barn, will play the Barrow Group Theatre, located at 312 West 36th Street.

NYMF membership tickets are currently available. Single tickets go on sale Sept. 1. For more information visit NYMF.
