In-Flight Box Office is the name of a new service that will allow passengers on New York-bound flights to purchase tickets to several Broadway shows.

Variety reports that the Canadian company GuestLogix has teamed with Shubert Ticketing for the new program that will enable flight attendants to sell tickets to several Broadway shows. The new service will likely be tested on American Airlines within the next month.

Tickets will be available to four high-profile shows: Chicago (at the Ambassador Theatre), Monty Python's Spamalot (at the Shubert Theatre), The Phantom of the Opera (at the Majestic Theatre) and Mamma Mia! (at the Winter Garden Theatre). Ticket prices will range $100-$120 apiece.

Flight attendants will conduct the ticket transactions with handheld devices, according to the industry paper. A voucher that can be redeemed at the box office will be given to passengers who purchase tickets while on board.

For each ticket sold, GuestLogix and the airline will receive a "convenience fee."
