Lilli Marlene, Featuring WWII Hits, to Play Off-Broadway's Havoc Theatre

Linn Maxwell will star in the new musical Lilli Marlene, which is scheduled to begin previews in the June Havoc Theatre, located within the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex, Sept. 18.

Directed by Erv Raible, the one-woman musical — which features the hits of the World War II era — will officially open Sept. 22. Paul Trueblood is the musical director.

Lilli Marlene was penned by Kathryn Ryan and features such classics as "As Time Goes By," "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square," "It Had to Be You," "The White Cliffs of Dover," "Mad About the Boy" and the title tune. The musical, according to press notes, "is the story of three devoted friends – Lilli in Berlin, Rose in London and Daphne in Indiana. Separated by oceans and continents, their lives are set spinning by the chaos of World War II that engulfs their countries and threatens to shatter their very lives."

John Osher and Bob Roskam are the show's producers.

Linn Maxwell has been seen Off-Broadway in The Mother of Us All and The Fortune Teller and in regional productions of Chicago, Company, Inside Out, Tartuffe and Blithe Spirit. She has performed with major orchestras and opera companies in recital halls around the world.

Show times are Thursdays-Saturdays at 8 PM with matinees Sundays at 3 PM.

Tickets, priced $25, are available by calling (212) 868-4444 or by visiting www.Smarttix.com. The June Havoc Theatre, located within the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex, is located in Manhattan at 312 West 36th Street, between Eighth and Ninth Avenue.
