Dench, Irons, Moore, Pike, Richardson, Stewart, Suchet and More Set for Ian Fleming Tribute

A host of stage and screen stars will take part in The Story of James Bond: A Tribute to Ian Fleming Oct. 5 at the London Palladium.

Presented by the Ian Fleming Centenary, the 7:30 PM performance will be hosted by Joanna Lumley and Stephen Fry.

The evening will feature performances of classic Bond theme songs as well as recitings of Fleming's prose, including never-before-heard material. Among those scheduled to take part in the one-night-only event are Samantha Bond, Christopher Cazenove, Judi Dench, Sebastian Faulks, David Gilmour, Charlie Higson, Jeremy Irons, Lemar, Lee Mead, Roger Moore, Mica Paris, Rosamund Pike, Joely Richardson, Ruby Turner, Toby Stephens, Patrick Stewart, David Suchet, Harriet Walter as well as appearances by Classic Bond girls.

Singers will be backed by a 60-piece orchestra. A sneak preview of the new film "Quantum of Solace" will also be part of the starry evening.

Ian Fleming, creator of James Bond, was born May 28, 1908. Ian Fleming wrote 14 Bond books: "Casino Royale" (1953); "Live and Let Die" (1954); "Moonraker" (1955); "Diamonds Are Forever" (1956); "From Russia with Love" (1957); "Dr. No" (1958); "Goldfinger" (1959); "For your Eyes Only" (1960); "Thunderball" (1961); "The Spy Who Loved Me" (1962); "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" (1963); "You Only Live Twice" (1964); "The Man With The Golden Gun" (1965) and "Octopussy and the Living Daylights" (1966). He also penned the children's favorite, "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang."
