Frost/Nixon Film Will Premiere at L.A. and N.Y. Branches of Paley Center

By Andrew Gans
03 Sep 2008

The Paley Center for Media will offer the U.S. premiere of the new film "Frost/Nixon," which is based on the award-winning play of the same name.

The Ron Howard film will be screened at the Paley Center Los Angeles Nov. 21 at 7 PM. The evening will also feature a panel led by "Frost/Nixon" director Howard, producer Brian Glazer and members of the film's cast.

The Paley Center for Media New York will screen the eagerly awaited film Dec. 2 at 6 PM. Director Howard and producer Glaser are also scheduled to be part of the Manhattan event.

"Frost/Nixon" is scheduled to open in limited release in the U.S. Dec. 5.

Ron Howard's silver-screen adaptation of Peter Morgan's Tony-nominated Best Play Frost/Nixon features original Frost/Nixon stage stars Frank Langella and Michael Sheen.

According to press notes for the Broadway production, "Frost/Nixon tackles the question: How did David Frost, a famous British talk-show host with a playboy reputation, elicit the apology that the rest of the world was waiting to hear from former President Richard Nixon? The fast-paced new play shows the determination, conviction and cunning of two men as they square off in one of the most monumental political interviews of all time."

In addition to Langella (as President Nixon) and Sheen (as David Frost), the film also stars Kevin Bacon, Oliver Platt, Sam Rockwell, Rebecca Hall, Toby Jones and Matthew Macfadyen.
