Sleepwalk With Me to Play the Bleecker Street Theater; Nathan Lane Among the Show's Producers

Sleepwalk With Me is the title of a new comedy penned by and starring Mike Birbiglia that will arrive Off-Broadway this fall.
Directed by Seth Barrish, the production will begin previews at the Bleecker Street Theater Oct. 17 with an official opening Nov. 11. Eli Gonda and Ryan Scott Warren of QuasiWorld Entertainment and Nathan Lane produce.
In Sleepwalk With Me, press notes state, Birbiglia "takes the audience on a hysterically funny and intensely personal journey through stories of his life and bouts with sleepwalking. As he finally confronts his fears of love, honesty and growing up, we see that some people's problems will work themselves out with a nice long walk — but not Mike's.
The production will feature set design by Beowulf Borwitt, lighting design by Jason Lyons and sound design by Jody Elff.
In a statement Birbiglia said, "This is a project that I've been working on secretly for four years and my dream was always that it would cross over into theatre. The fact that Seth Barrish is directing and these incredible producers believe in the show — it really feels like great timing in a way that I could never have imagined. Doing this show in NYC is a huge honor. It's also very convenient — roughly about 30 blocks from my apartment."
Producer Lane added, "Every once in a while, someone comes along who renews your faith in the art of stand-up comedy. It happened when I first saw Mitch Hedberg, and it happened again when I saw Mike Birbiglia. . . You should definitely just go see him, and get lost in his world. It's a fun and hilarious place to be."
Show times are Wednesday-Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 8 and 10 PM and Sunday at 3 and 7 PM.
