Broadway League's Alan Cohen Hangs New Shingle as Life Coach

By Kenneth Jones
11 Sep 2008

Alan Cohen

Alan Cohen, formerly director of communications for The Broadway League, has launched a new coaching and consulting business, Acts of Balance, "targeting creative professionals who want more from their personal and business lives."

The new business "will serve performers, arts executives, entrepreneurs, media professionals, public relations and advertising executives, who are seeking more balance, order, harmony and success in their lives," according to Cohen. "Services offered will support clients in any or all areas of life — personal development, career/professional development, family/parenting, fun and enjoyment, health/aging, relationships, personal finance and spiritual awareness. Coaching can be utilized for business planning, budgeting and goal-setting; to balance business and personal life; to prioritize actions and projects; for training, developing and managing staff; to turn around a difficult situation, or to handle business or personal problems."

"Having worked for arts organizations and media companies, and in human resources, marketing and public relations and, now, coaching, I can relate to many of the unique challenges faced by creative professionals, and feel well-equipped to offer this service," Cohen said.

"Whether you are a performer wishing to work through fears or financial challenges, an arts executive seeking a more balanced life or seeking a healthier bottom line, or an entrepreneur wanting to move his or her business to the next level, coaching can be a powerful, empowering tool to help attain your goals. This relatively new technology of personal and professional development is based on concepts from sports, business, spirituality, psychology and organizational development. It is for passionate people who want more from their personal and business lives."
